ABOUT PETER

Picture
Peter's parents chose to raise the lucky boy right in the center of one of the rather more interesting and historically rich cities in the world: Vienna, Austria. One could think of it as hitting a kind of geographic birth-jackpot. Peter grew up surrounded by culture, nature, and a society that cared deeply for its members.
Despite all these opportunities, his parents enrolled him in a Police Judo Academy as soon as he could walk and talk at the same time. It seems they foresaw that throughout his life, their son would take every opportunity to learn from falling on his face. And if Judo teaches you one thing, it is how to fall and get back up without breaking your bones.

The day Peter graduated from Highschool, he moved to Finland. On the way out the door he told his family, "I have to go see about a girl." This romantic beginning to Peter's globetrotting was not the only time love changed his life.

Since then, Peter has called Austria, Finland, Australia, Japan, Hawaii, the USA, and Brazil home. He has spent most of his years running around various continents, visiting over 50 countries. His earth-shattering conclusion is, "I like heat better than cold."

After having been a waiter, gogo-dancer, bar tender, Small Business Owner, orchid florist, event planner, stage builder, night club party organizer, and blogger, he accidentally found himself working for various soulless high-tech firms in the US. A financially stabilizing and intellectually stimulating, yet adventure-numbing experience for the hitherto Gypsy.

And, as if all that was not enough to call it a day behind some nice little picket fence, he then chose to ride bicycle from California to Brazil.

Over the course of this richly, some might say chaotically, experienced life, Peter added a number of arts to his repertoire:  The most impactful one turned out to be Capoeira - the Brazilian Martial Art. He apparently also likes to ride bicycle, take undue risks, pay the price, and live to tell the story.

And he plays flute. At sunsets, for kids & nature, in churches, and on zocalos around the world. He hopes to catch you there.
